Contact form submissions:

• Name, email address, and message content — provided voluntarily when you submit the contact form
• Cloudflare Turnstile token — used solely for bot protection, not stored

Automatically collected (by Cloudflare):

• IP address, browser type, device type — for security, DDoS protection, and analytics
• Cloudflare Web Analytics may collect anonymized page view data with no cookies or tracking

Data we do NOT collect:

• No cookies are set by this Site
• No tracking pixels or third-party analytics (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
• No advertising or remarketing
• No user accounts or passwords

4. How We Use Your Data

• Contact form data: Used solely to respond to your inquiry. Delivered to jh@jasonhackett.ca via Resend (email service). Not shared with third parties, not used for marketing.
• Text-to-speech: When you use the read-aloud feature, text is sent to ElevenLabs via a secure server-side proxy. No personal data is transmitted — only the page content text.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

• Contact form: Consent — you voluntarily provide your data by submitting the form
• Security processing: Legitimate interest — protecting the Site from abuse (Cloudflare, Turnstile)

6. Third-Party Services

The Site uses the following third-party services:

• Cloudflare (Pages, Workers, Turnstile) — hosting, CDN, security, bot protection. Privacy policy
• Resend — transactional email delivery for contact form. Privacy policy
• ElevenLabs — text-to-speech synthesis (no personal data sent). Privacy policy
• Google Fonts — font delivery. Privacy policy

7. Data Retention

• Contact form emails are retained in the Site owner's email inbox and managed according to standard email retention practices
• No contact form data is stored in a database
• Cloudflare analytics data is anonymized and retained per Cloudflare's policies

8. Your Rights (GDPR / PIPEDA)

If you are in the EU/EEA or Canada, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data
• Request data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed by Cloudflare and Resend servers in various countries. These services maintain appropriate safeguards for international data transfers including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted data through the contact form, please contact us for removal.

This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised accordingly.
